About Us - SHARE VOLUNTEERS

The word 'SHARE' stands for SN Home Assistance out Reach to Elderly. This programme was launched in 1998 to bring our services beyond the compounds of our Home and into the estate of Marsiling and Yishun. Apart from volunteering, providing services to the elderly at the Home, some SN volunteers (SHARE members) also visit beneficiaries every fortnightly at their estate in Marsiling and Yishun, with the objective of befriending and lending assistance to the needy. This includes lending them a listening ear, reading letters for them, buying of daily necessities and helping them in other areas where assistance is required.The SHARE beneficiaries also includes lower educated families with financial problems. SHARE members have been organising get-together sessions and outings since 2005 for the beneficiaries to gather around to chit-chat, relax and have an enjoyable afternoon together. Buffet dinner at the void deck, a day to the Hay Dairies Goat Farm and Har Paw Villa Trip proves a closer bondings amongst these beneficiaries and also the volunteers. In doing so, it promotes a 'Watch Out' for one another mentallity or attitudes for beneficiaries living in the same estate. These beneficiaries are also invited to join in the festive celebrations and outings conducted by SNV in the Home. This kind of act aims at spreading festive joy and loves not only towards the elderly destitutes in the Home, but also to the SHARE beneficiaries from our neighbouring estate!

Our Objectives / Tasks

* Create a conducive environment for volunteers and SHARE beneficiaries
* Arrangement of SHARE beneficiaries for all festive celebrations and/or Outings conducted by SNV in the Home
* Responsible for all SHARE' outings and activities, aimed at building rapport among volunteers and SHARE beneficiaries
* Ensure all volunteers involving in SHARE comfortably assume their respective roles
* Liaise with SNM Volunteers Officer in arranging transport to various locations for SHARE services every fortnight
* Act as liaison with all other parties, directly or indirectly, involved with the SHARE activities

A Day Trip Shop & Makan in Malaysia!!!

Finally we are safely back from this long awaited short trip! This is our day trip to Kukup Fishing Village, Foot Reflexology, Durians eating , Shopping at Bukit Indah Jusco & Pelangi Mall...Happy Birthday wishes to Foo & Happy Belated Birthday to Jacqueline...&&& Candice's Belated Birthday who is continue celebrating her birthday from June to July...**laugh out loud**....Thank you Wei Wei & Candice...though both were making so much "noise" throughout the whole journey but it was really fun! **Haha** Thank you Foo & Ben & Ang & Siew Kiang for their generousity to treat us the food, beverages & durians. Thank you all for your cooperation & attendance and had made this trip a memorable one. Yeah! SNians...You Are Rock!

Frame For Lay Pheng???

I understand that Lay Pheng has many of her completed jigsaw puzzle set but without a frame. She wanted to sell all to get back some money....i wonder will these frames suitable for her? About 5000 pieces can be fixed in this frame! I yet to measure its length & width will find out that soon...
